Artist Reflection — Matter, Memory, and the Slow Heart

There are moments when matter thinks more clearly than I do.

Ice vibrates, melts, fractures, and I follow its decisions like a witness learning a new language.

In these slow transformations, a heart appears — not as an emotion, but as a landscape of pigments and time.

My work begins where intention dissolves.

I let water, color, and temperature negotiate their own memory.

What remains on the surface is not an image I created,

but a trace of matter remembering itself.

The Ice Civilization is not a metaphor;

it is a place where ethics reform through vibration,

where painting becomes geology,

and where memory survives as temperature.

In this quiet process, I realize:

art is not what I choose.

It is what chooses to remain

after everything else disappears.

작가의 성찰 — 물질, 기억, 그리고 느린 심장

때로는 나보다 물질이 더 명확하게 사고하는 순간이 있다.

얼음은 진동하고, 녹고, 갈라지며 스스로의 결정을 내린다.

나는 그 움직임을 하나의 언어처럼 따라가며 배우는 목격자일 뿐이다.

그 느린 변형 속에서 심장은 나타난다.

감정이 아니라, 물질과 시간의 진동이 만든 하나의 풍경으로.

나의 작업은 의도가 녹아내리는 자리에서 시작된다.

물, 색, 온도가 스스로 기억을 협상하도록 내버려두면,

표면에 남는 것은 내가 만든 이미지가 아니라

물질이 스스로를 기억하는 방식이다.

얼음문명은 비유가 아니다.

그곳은 진동으로 윤리가 다시 태어나고,

회화가 지질학이 되며,

기억이 온도로 숨을 이어가는 장소이다.

이 고요한 과정 속에서 나는 깨닫는다.

예술은 내가 선택하는 것이 아니라,

모든 것이 사라진 뒤에도

남아 있기를 선택한 것이라는 사실을.
