My work captures the precise moment when a refined “Ice Civilization” reaches a critical threshold and begins to melt, regaining its primordial heartbeat.

While my previous works examined fixed orders and stratified memories, the Structural Drift series focuses on the state of dynamic “drift” that emerges when such orders collide with physical compression and force.

The geometric frames no longer function as supports; instead, they operate as constraining structures that attempt to regulate the erupting volume of material within. The crumpled and entangled forms maintain a tension between control and collapse, revealing a transition from individual bodies toward a collectivized volume.

At this melting boundary—where self and other become entangled—a new ethical sensibility arises beyond cold rationality. This work stands as a visual record of the moment when a frozen civilization begins to beat once again.

나의 작업은 정제된 ‘얼음 문명’이 임계점에서 녹아내리며 비로소 심장박동을 되찾는 찰나를 포착한다.

이전 작업이 고정된 질서와 기억의 층위를 탐구했다면, 신작 〈Structural Drift〉 연작은 그 질서가 물리적 압축과 충돌하며 발생하는 역동적인 ‘이탈(Drift)’의 상태에 집중한다.

기하학적 프레임은 더 이상 대상을 지지하지 않고, 내부에서 분출되는 물질의 볼륨을 제어하는 구속 장치로 기능한다. 프레임 안에서 구겨지고 엉킨 형태들은 통제와 붕괴 사이의 긴장을 유지하며, 개별적 자아가 집단화된 볼륨으로 전이되는 과정을 드러낸다.

이 녹아내리는 경계 위에서 타자와 내가 엉키는 순간, 차가운 이성을 넘어선 새로운 윤리적 감각이 발생한다. 이것은 멈춰 있던 문명이 다시 박동하기 시작하는 지점에 대한 시각적 기록이다.
