The Moon and the Sun, Language upon Ruins
The Sun has long been a metaphor of truth, universality, and power. Ancient empires claimed the Sun as their emblem, while modernity asserted “one universal” under its light. The Sun illuminates everything, but its brightness enforces order and erases the voices of others once hidden in the shadows. The Sun imperializes language and seals sacrifice within institutional silence.
The Moon, by contrast, has no light of its own. It reflects, wanes, and waxes, always incomplete, revealing presence through absence. The Moon carries ruins, fractures, wounds, and traces of forgetting. Its light touches the space of the victim, illuminating not universal power but the language of debris.
These two symbols collide within my practice. Objects sealed in ice are forced toward disappearance under the Sun’s regime of power, yet their reflections in mirrors return like the Moon’s glow. The viewer is compelled to ask: am I a consumer of the Sun, or a witness of the Moon?
Readymade objects compress this tension. Bread, shoes, stones, and paper—discarded fragments under the Sun—become new icons under the Moon. They are no longer ornaments but ethical signs carrying the voices of sacrifice.
Thus my Neoneopostmodernism is not mere recombination. It is an act of resisting the Sun’s authority and iconizing the ruins of the Moon. Language, debris, sacrifice, and the readymade gather in the rhythm of moonlight to form a new constellation.
Art does not impose a single truth beneath the Sun. Art, under the Moon, reveals fragments, reassembles broken pieces into new coordinates, and situates the viewer not as a passive consumer but as a witness of history.

Moon
A cold light, a body that cannot shine by itself but only reflects. A presence defined through absence.

Moonlight does not leave a direct record but only traces. It disappears, yet remains — the persistence of memory.

The afterimage dissolves into fog, becoming blurred and distorted. Memory layers where clarity is no longer possible.

A sudden spark that cuts through the fog. A flare that recalls what has vanished — a signal of return.

Light becomes more than light: it is a call, a transmission, a code. The silenced voice of the victim transformed into data.

Signals interconnect, forming an invisible web. Personal memory expands into collective testimony.

Yet the network never delivers pure truth; it always carries illusion. A tension between disappearance and revelation.

뉴뉴포스트모던니즘은 해체 이후의 세계에서 파편을 다시 엮어내려는 시도다. 그러나 이 좌표는 단순히 언어, 잔해, 희생, 레디메이드의 조합으로만 멈추지 않는다. 나는 여기에 달과 태양이라는 근원적 상징을 끌어온다.
태양은 언제나 진리, 보편성, 권력의 은유였다. 고대 제국은 태양을 권력의 상징으로 삼았고, 근대는 태양 아래서 “하나의 보편”을 주장했다. 태양은 모든 것을 밝히지만 동시에 그 빛은 특정한 질서를 강요하고, 어둠 속에 있던 타자의 목소리를 지워버린다. 태양은 언어를 제국화하고, 희생을 제도 속에 봉인한다.
달은 그 반대편에서 서 있다. 달은 빛을 가지지 않고 반사한다. 그것은 언제나 불완전하고, 차오르고 이지러지며, 부재 속의 존재를 드러낸다. 달은 잔해와 균열, 상처와 망각의 흔적을 품는다. 달빛은 사라진 희생자의 자리에 가닿으며, 보편적 권력이 아닌 잔해의 언어를 비춘다.
이 두 상징은 결국 내 작업 속에서 충돌한다. 얼음 속에 봉인된 오브제는 태양의 권력처럼 사라지기를 강요받지만, 거울 속에서 반사되는 잔해는 달빛처럼 귀환한다. 관람자는 이 긴장 속에서 자신이 어디에 서 있는지 묻는다. 그는 태양의 소비자인가, 아니면 달의 증인인가.
레디메이드로 제시된 사물들은 이러한 긴장을 압축한다. 빵, 신발, 돌, 종이는 태양 아래서 기능을 잃고 버려진 잔해지만, 달빛 아래서는 새로운 아이콘으로 되살아난다. 그것은 더 이상 장식이 아니라, 희생의 목소리를 품은 윤리적 기호다.
따라서 나의 뉴뉴포스트모던니즘은 단순한 재조합이 아니다. 그것은 태양의 권력에 맞서 달의 잔해를 아이콘화하는 행위다. 언어와 잔해, 희생과 레디메이드가 달빛의 리듬 속에서 새로운 별자리를 형성한다.
예술은 태양 아래서 하나의 진리를 강요하지 않는다. 예술은 달빛 아래서 파편을 드러내고, 부서진 조각들을 새로운 좌표로 재구성한다. 그때 비로소 관람자는 단순한 소비자가 아닌, 역사의 증인으로 서게 된다.

달 (Moon)
차가운 빛, 스스로 빛을 내지 못하고 반사하는 존재. 부재를 통해 드러나는 존재.

달빛은 직접적인 기록이 아니라 흔적만을 남긴다. 사라지지만 여전히 남아 있는 기억.

안개 (Fog)
잔상은 안개 속에서 흐려지고 왜곡된다. 더 이상 명확히 볼 수 없는 기억의 층위.

불빛 (Light / Fire)
안개를 가르며 순간적으로 번쩍이는 불빛. 사라진 것을 다시 호출하는 신호.

신호 (Signal)
불빛은 단순한 빛이 아니라 호출, 전달, 교신이 된다. 희생자의 목소리가 코드로 변환된다.

네트워크 (Network)
신호들이 서로 연결되며 보이지 않는 구조를 형성한다. 개인적 기억이 집단적 증언으로 확장된다.

일루션 (Illusion)
그러나 네트워크는 결코 순수한 진실을 전달하지 않는다. 항상 환영을 동반하며, 사라짐과 드러남 사이의 긴장을 드러낸다.

환영은 결국 육체로 귀결된다. 살, 피, 상처—구체적 희생자의 흔적.

결빙된 저장고 (Frozen Storage)
육체는 차갑게 봉인되어 침묵 속에 남는다. 기억은 보존되지만 동시에 고립되며, 그 침묵은 오히려 더 큰 증언이 된다.
